The Scottish Government have commissioned The Lines Between to carry out a study which aims to develop and assess a suite of options for the development of a survey that will capture people’s experiences of using NHS mental health services and support in Scotland.
Evidence tells us that improved health outcomes are linked to positive experiences of people seeking support from healthcare services. This is why patient experience is an important aspect of health care quality and central to the Scottish Government’s Core Mental Health Standards and 2023 Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy. There is currently no standardised or national method of collecting feedback from people about their experience of mental health services in Scotland. To ensure that this information is made available for service planning and delivery, the Scottish Government committed in the Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy delivery plan to undertaking research to understand what information is required and how it might be collected.
The Lines Between are currently running an online questionnaire as part of this study and would like to invite anyone with an interest in this area to participate, which will help to inform what a future survey should cover, how it should be run and how results will be utilised.
The questionnaire will take about 20 minutes to complete. When you first access the questionnaire there is further information about the study and how information provided will be used. We would be grateful for responses by the 28th October.
