Primary Care
Some things have changed about the way we deliver services in Primary Care, including at your GP Practice. As a result, we commenced a media campaign to highlight these changes to make you aware and asked for your help to work with us.
We want to help people understand why new ways of working are needed following the COVID-19 pandemic and how things have changed. We are here to support patients and the GP Practices in Aberdeen City with the new ways of working, including how you contact your GP practice and the importance of multi-disciplinary team (MDT) working. Clinical staff other than the GPs are often the most appropriate professionals to support patients health. We are promoting best practice in the use of expert clinical staff and nurturing long term sustainability across general practice.
We will continue in our efforts to keep everyone updated and help support patients and our Primary Care colleagues to deliver excellent patient care. Further updates will be added to this page as they occur.
Thank you for your continued support and kindness to our staff.

Community Treatment & Care Clinics (CTAC) Video
Community Treatment and Care Clinics (also known as CTAC) have been opening since June 2022. This nurse-led service provides a specialist range of services, some of which you may have been more familiar with receiving from your GP Practice. For example, blood tests, blood pressure & wound care to name but a few.
By offering these Clinics in addition to attending your GP Practice for these services, this provides you as the patient with a greater choice of locations, flexibility of appointments (often quicker than at your individual Practice), parking and accessibility for those with mobility issues. Staff are employed by NHS Grampian / Aberdeen City Health & Social Care Partnership and liaise with each GP Practice. This ensures you are seen at the right place, at the right time, with the right person.
